1) My laptop battery is on red.
2) We finished our wedding preparation course and it was awesome. No serious. It was.
3) I need to find some mid-high blue shoes for the wedding. They need to be funky and very blue.
4) My mum can't make it over. She's waiting for a heart bypass and it's always been touch and go as to whether she could come. Thing is, her doctors gave her the okay to fly, but no on will insure her.
5) 4 makes me so sad. Not having my mum around during the wedding preparations has been hard, even though we talk every day. It's just not the same and whilst I am being all I'm Okay with her not coming so she stops crying about it, really I need to have a good cry about it too.
6) My dad is coming though and whilst I can't wait to see him and show him a little piece of Canada, it'll be odd having him here without mum. It's made me ponder how the matriarchy of our family influences my relationships with extended and close family members. When my mum is around, I am so much easier around people. She takes the lead and fills gaps, I suppose, that I am expected to fill when she's not around and I'm not good at it. A number of my family members will be flying in for the wedding and, honestly, entertaining them is very daunting for me.
Not to mention the parents' first meeting.
CRINGE
7) This is our last free weekend before the big day. We are spending it painting (jon, we went for orange and green and it looks pretty good. I shall post pics somewhere -- however, it now means we have a red kitchen, orange dining room and green lounge -- rev your engines). Our remaining weekends are filled with celebrations and before we know it the big I Do will be here.
